This past Friday, we took a trip to Colonial Lanes for a night of bowling. It was a great way to come together before spring break and welcome the newly admitted students to Iowa City! π³
We held our annual Friendsgiving dinner last night and it was such a fun time! The food was great and it was an amazing opportunity to relax and catch up with each other. We also had so much fun playing Friendsgiving Feud! Hope everyone has a good & restful fall break! π¦π
Yesterday, we held a resume workshop hosted by the head of our department, Dr. Cavanaugh, and director of graduate studies, Dr. Oleson. Their tips and tricks for polishing up our resumes and cover letters were very helpful! And afterwards we all enjoyed some delicious waffles! π§
It was Halloween in the department last Thursday and the we held a pumpkin painting event to get everyone in the festive spirit! I think we have some hidden artists within our midst because everyoneβs spooky creatures turned out so good!! ππ¦π»
Last Thursday, the department held our fall picnic and it was such a great turnout! It was a wonderful opportunity for our students, faculty, and staff to get to know each other outside the classroom. Thank you to our president and vice president for putting this together!
