Today marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. As a mark of respect, we will fly our flags at half-mast from sunrise to sunset to honour those who lost their lives in the attacks.
While reflecting on the tragedy of every life lost, as a service it's important that we take a moment to honour the emergency service workers who sacrificed their own lives to respond in service, including 343 firefighters.
Never forget.

This is one of the most challenging periods for our members since the Blitz. We will continue fighting for more firefighters, proper PPE, and resources to keep our members safe.

🔥 A disposable BBQ left in a bin caused a fire that could easily have spread beyond the container and into surrounding vegetation.
Please pack a picnic, not a BBQ. Disposable BBQs can stay hot long after use and pose a serious wildfire risk.

In 35 years service I’ve never experienced such a protracted period of high demand & call volume. Today, just one example, we had two 8🚒 moorland fires and a 7🚒 building fire all running simultaneously alongside BAU. So proud of everyone at @manchesterfire and @NW_Fire_Control
34 days ago we received the first call to what became a major incident. Firefighters have grafted 24/7 to get on top of this job and today we sent the ‘STOP’ message 👍Everyone at GM🚒, Fire Control, partner agencies have pulled together to get us to this point thank you so much.
The explosion crisis in Essex has taken a turn for the worse following the enormous explosion. Flying embers are setting homes, farmland, and vehicles ablaze 🔥
