The Government Communication Service (GCS) is a professional body within the Civil Service. We offer training, official guidance and networking opportunities.
The Civil Service is in a pre-election period and this will last until the General Election concludes.
During this time there will be restrictions on communications activity and the GCS social media accounts will be quieter than usual.
Today we launch our annual Government Communication Plan.
It outlines how communicators across government will support the Prime Minister’s priorities in 2024/25.

All government organisations are expected to consider where the use of BSL in their communications will be of most interest and importance to Deaf BSL users.
If you are a GCS member, read the guidance on how to plan for and produce BSL content - https://t.co/4jTbmlaMtt
Sign Language Week commemorates the first time British Sign Language (BSL) was recognised as a language by the UK government on 18 March 2003.
BSL is used by over 150,000 people. It has its own grammar and is structured in a completely different way from English.
Government information should be as accessible and inclusive as possible and in the Government Communication Service we all have a role in making our communications accessible : https://t.co/eQxaKK9146
