Electricity demand is running at 32.00 GW this afternoon. Grid frequency is 49.933 Hz, placing the system in Watch status, though conditions remain stable with only a minor deviation from the 50 Hz target.
Solar is currently the largest source of generation at 12.19 GW (48.5% of metered supply), followed by wind at 6.57 GW and nuclear at 2.97 GW. Gas-fired generation is providing 1.77 GW, one of the lowest levels seen so far today.
Carbon intensity stands at 52 gCO₂/kWh. Britain is also importing significant power through interconnectors with France, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark.
