Shepherds from Ghizer Gilgit Baltistan Wasiyat Khan, Ansar and Muhammad Khan, whose timely warning led to the safety of all residents from the disastrous Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) in Ghizer Valley, today after their meeting with PM Pakistan. #Shephers
The capitalist countries of the world, which played the biggest role in global warming, are still enjoying life, while we are suffering. Our GilgitBaltistan Baltistan is trapped in severe climate change.

The GLOF-II project, launched to protect communities in Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the dangers of glacial lake outburst floods, aimed to expand early warning systems, strengthen flood-resilient infrastructure, and empower vulnerable groups, particularly women. Funded with billions of rupees, it promised weather stations, flood sensors, reforestation, and livelihood support to safeguard lives and livelihoods.
However, recent reports allege mismanagement and corruption involving the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan and partner NGOs. Funds intended for disaster preparedness were reportedly diverted or misused, with early warning systems left incomplete or non-functional. This has left thousands of residents at risk as glacier melt and extreme weather events intensify.
In this video, we examine the financial irregularities, gaps in oversight, and the urgent steps needed to restore accountability and ensure communities receive the protection they were promised.
