They beheaded Lanchals (also known as longneck) in front of the emperor. The emperor escaped and took his revenge. As a tribute to his friend, he forced them to keep 101 white swans (long necks) on the water of Bruges for eternity. If they failed to do so, Bruges would crumble.

According to legend, the people of Bruges kidnapped Emperor Maximilian of Austria and his friend/advisor (named Lanchals) for their hatred for, and mistreatment of, the people here.

Tlālōcān is an ancient Aztec paradise and the fourth layer of the ‘upper world’, ruled over by the Aztec rain deity Tlāloc. You would be welcomed into Tlālōcān if you had died a violent death associated with water, such as drowning. #FaustianFriday

Temple of Poseidon 🧜‍♂️
It is said that King Aegeus leapt to his death from these cliffs into the Aegean Sea after seeing the black sails of Theseus’ ship, thinking his son had not survived his quest to kill the Minotaur.

The mariners and fishermen prayed to Poseidon to keep them safe from storms and shipwrecks and often sacrificed animals to him.

Poseidon has a significant role in Homer’s Odyssey and acts almost as a primary antagonist as Odysseus braves the wild oceans to get home to Ithaca.

The Temple of Poseidon - Athens
We ended our honeymoon with a sunset trip to this cliffside temple and it really was one of the most stunning sights I’ve seen - I hope the pictures do it justice.

Poseidon is one of the gods of Ancient Greece and his power is second only to Zeus.

@VampWriterGRRL From my understanding, the Holly Thorn was planted and grew into the tree on Wearyall Hill which can be seen from the Tor. I think the water from the Holy Grail is connected to the Chalice Well?

Glastonbury Tor is in Glastonbury (obviously) and has many a myth and legend attached to it:

- the celts believed it was a gateway to the underworld
- it is said to be the home of a hidden cave that acts as a passage to the fairy realm (Annwn)
