Never, ever, ever, ever in the entire history of humanity has one human being’s ego needed to be stroked so much. It’s so fucking pathetic. And shame, shame, shame on all the ego strokers.
@Pontifex Who is committing this death and destruction, Your Holiness? A nameless or unidentifiable force? No, Russia, and we cannot aid the good in this world without challenging the evil. Your predecessor Pope John Paul II did not shy from naming the evils of Communism.
No. Mr. President.
In America, you do not fire the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics for releasing a jobs report that you don’t like. That's what authoritarians do.
We need serious economists in these positions, not hacks who will only tell you what you want to hear.

Hey @JDVance — nice of you to finally make it out to California.
Since you’re so eager to talk about me, how about saying it to my face?
Let’s debate. Time and place?
Trump's parade is nothing more than a vulgar demonstration of just how weak he is.
It's the kind of thing you see with Kim Jong Un, Putin -- dictators around the world that are weak and desperate.
It's as small as it gets. But that's Donald Trump.
California will keep fighting on behalf of all our people including in the courts.
If some of us can be snatched off the streets without a warrant, based only on suspicion or skin color, then none of us are safe.
Authoritarian regimes begin by targeting people who are least able to defend themselves. But they do not stop there. Trump and his loyalists thrive on division because it allows them to take more power and exert even more control.
When he speaks to the Americans, President Putin says: I want peace. Yet he continues to bomb Ukraine and kill civilians.
He must stop lying and give a clear answer: does he agree to a ceasefire?
Rewarding an aggressor will only lead to more aggressive actions. Failing to stand up for democracies who are invaded will lead to more invasions of free countries. To reward Russia for bad behavior and punish Ukraine for fighting to defend itself would be a terrible injustice, America should know the difference between right and wrong and want to be on the right side of history.
Thirty four days ago, Ukraine responded positively to the U.S. proposal for a full and unconditional ceasefire. And for thirty four days now, Russia has been openly refusing to cease fire. Putin remains focused on continuing the war. Russian state propagandists are preparing their audience for the idea that diplomacy will not bring any results.
There is only one reason for this – in Moscow, they are not afraid. If there is no strong enough pressure on Russia, they will keep doing what they are used to – they will keep waging war.
We all want this to end. Peace is needed – and it must be lasting. That is why Ukraine always works constructively with its partners, in all formats that can bring security and restore peace. We are not just ready for peace quickly – Ukraine has never wanted this war, not for a single second.
And when the war ends, the world will clearly know: it happened because Russia, the aggressor, was forced into peace. The same aggressor that came to Ukrainian land in 2014 – 11 years ago. And it’s important for everyone that this doesn’t take more years.
Trump tells his followers to buy stock in the morning, minutes after the market opens, then announces he is pausing tariffs 4 hours later.
Nothing to see here.
