Nothing says “702 black” quite like having other people do the ground work while you support from home. The real “mimosa blacks” are the ones supporting comfortably from the couch while calling everyone else “mimosa blacks” for not supporting the march.
When the dust settles corporate South Africa needs to be shamed for its lack of support for Bafana Bafana. E.g. Checkers gave staff Green tops for the Springboks and you'd see flags all over the shop on Matchdays. Nothing for Bafana Bafana.
I’ve just learned of an ‘artist’ named Credo v Daniels who’s so obviously using AI to make music. His audacity to accept bookings & sing in public is shocking, yes. But the biggest losers in this case for me are the people going to see him & even singing along.
Just saw a video of this little boy asking his mom if the reason she can’t buy him a doll is because she doesn’t think he can be a father.
And now that I think about it, maybe that’s why men think being a parent is optional because they never imagined it from a young age
NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTS CYRIL RAMAPHOSA AS PRESIDENT-ELECT
Parliament, Friday, 14 June 2024 – The National Assembly (NA) has, during its first sitting of the 7th Parliament today, elected Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa as the President-elect of the Republic of South Africa. He has been re-elected to serve a second term as the President.
In terms of the Constitution, the National Assembly must, at its first sitting after its election, elect a woman or a man from among its members to be the President.
Mr. Ramaphosa was elected with 283 votes against Mr Julius Malema with 44 votes. The Constitution states that when elected President, a person ceases to be a member of the National Assembly and, within five days, must assume office by swearing or affirming faithfulness to the Republic and obedience to the Constitution.
The President-elect will be inaugurated during a ceremony in Pretoria which, according to the Constitution, should take place within five days after the President’s election.
Once the President has taken the oath of office, he will proceed to form a cabinet, selecting ministers who will head various government departments and execute the administration's policies. Additionally, the President will convene a joint sitting of the newly established National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces for the Opening of Parliament Address (OPA).
