Mark Carney is my PM after not voting LPC in almost 2 decades.
Educated in Poli-Sci & History.
Author of horror stories, even sold some.
Don't put up w/BS.
@Keroba1@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly And if we do look at CPC history, theirs isn't always great either. These are the years Harper was PM. Inflation was almost the same. The GDP Growth was essentially the same as well if you average them. So, no... not broken. No different than before. Just a political lever.
@deanmadore@SuburbanPolly And that language "You fall for Carney..." no, I'm making a choice, as is my right. I actually hadn't decided on LPC yet, thanks for helping me to. Democracy is about choice, not about bullying, nasty or trying to guilt folks. Learn to be an honest stakeholder, you'll do better.
@Keroba1@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly Yeah, well the "your broke" line rings hollow too.
Let's be honest, the choices aren't great period. I can't see myself voting for blind cuts to everything, bad manners, negativity, & general nasty. I'd rather not vote LPC, but I'm not being given much else. CPC failed too.
@Keroba1@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly Yup, so do I trust "Mr. Everything is Broken", or "Mr. We Can Be Better" more?
Think about the effect that has on most Canadians when they go to the polls. The message is important.
The message has to be tailored to the moment, and one of the two missed the moment.
@deanmadore@SuburbanPolly Sadly, I don't believe you. You have no special way of knowing anything, including whether or not you're right. You're just swinging wild hoping to change a narrative. Again, the fact that CPC folks are negative & at times nasty, hurts them greatly.I'll decide based on my beliefs
@deanmadore@SuburbanPolly You don't have all the answers, you don't know whether or not you're right, &you obviously don't understand what I'm having problems with.
Congrats though for helping to kill your own chances. There are midpoints & other points of view than yours that are still valid & valuable.
@deanmadore@SuburbanPolly And there it is again, that snarky CPC reduction where they prove they have no idea what you're saying & don't care. The thing that loses them votes & makes them a less and less viable option.
You're your own worst enemy.
@lammy9661@CapitalGiorgio@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly Haven't voted Liberal in over 25 years, but listening to you lot makes the choice pretty easy actually. Big difference between not telling us where you're going to cut from to balance your books and what Carney is planning.
No wonder CPC is tanking.
Bit too smug, aren't ya?
@RussellGal81381@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly And that kind of reaction is exactly why people are turning away from him and his 'message'.
First you're not a great representative to the CPC. If you don't know for sure what he means, you probably shouldn't say anything. Secondly though, anyone with a brain wants details.
@RWaschychyn@IronMapleX@SuburbanPolly Again though, you're guessing what he means. You have no substantiative proof that its what he's talking about. No one is arguing that some cuts need to be made. i just want to know WHAT he plans on cutting... not what YOU would cut.
I'm not potentially voting for YOU.
@CapitalGiorgio@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly And incidentally, its that kind of snark that turns voters off. I'm the one hiring my local MP. I expect them or their leader to actually be able to give detailed plans.
Being snarky and dismissive only convinces me NOT to vote for someone. So you're hurting your own cause.
@CapitalGiorgio@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly Where does it specifically say all those things? Show me? Right now its just words without real meaning. You're guessing what he means. You THINK that's what he means.
No specifics, no real information, just swinging wide.
You're the one who seems to lack real understanding.
@RussellGal81381@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly No... that's not acceptable as you only THINK that's what he means. Without him saying it, it means nothing. You're saying it, not him...no offense but you're guessing.
He needs to give direct examples. No plan.
@RWaschychyn@IronMapleX@SuburbanPolly I acknowledge that it takes time. That doesn't spin me out. They gave us a time line for July or August, I forget which.
The provinces have to discuss and negotiate.
Again, my big issue is not having specifics about 'cutting government waste'. It's too broad.
@DonPepitoAndy@SuburbanPolly There's no details. Unless the waste is pinpointed and explained in some detail, it means nothing. You can't just promise to 'cut things' without telling people what's being targetted.
@IronMapleX@SuburbanPolly It's not all government waste though. Some of those regulations and other things actually keep Canadians safe. Without actual information on WHICH ONES, its another empty promise with no teeth.
