Varsity All Star has publicly announced the following:
🔘Summit/D2 Summit will be June 19-22 at ESPN WWoS
🔘All teams are welcome to attend (you do not need a bid), including Worlds divisions
🔘Scoring requirements may be relaxed and additional safety measures implemented
@Alicia84317630 Bids to the Summit are awarded at some non varsity events (internationally). I am very aware of all boards (some of them aren’t governing, just FYI). You’ve missed a lot that aren’t affiliated with Worlds or Varsity events. I am also aware of the the various scoresheets at Worlds
@Alicia84317630 Yes I’M SERIOUS! Gasp! Let me reiterate. Cheerleading IS NOT just Varsity. How about you send me a DM and we can have a little lesson so you can learn about all the different types of cheerleading and all the events that ARE NOT Varsity. You’re really embarrassing yourself.
@Alicia84317630 Squeezing them out? Hard for most gyms throughout the country? You know nothing. Your gym may only participate in Varsity events...but once again, this article was written for ALL of cheerleading. Cheerleading is not Varsity and some of you are going to need to learn that.
@Alicia84317630 I’m wondering why you keep reading over the fact that there are other event producers. You don’t have to go to Varsity events. You can go to tons of independent events that are still sanctioned by the USASF. Are you a gym owner?
@Alicia84317630 If your gym is only attending Varsity events and you are unhappy about the exorbitant expense, speak to your gym owner. There is no reason to get on social media and call someone an idiot because you’re unhappy the article didn’t address your personal situation.
@Alicia84317630 You must not be aware that there are 35+ other event producers in the industry. This article was written for the entire cheer community - this was not written exclusively for gyms that only attend Varsity events.
@Alicia84317630 Did you even read the article? He gave recommendations the gyms could control. Gyms can’t control an event producer’s pricing. This is about logical solutions that can be implemented to help reduce costs. And you call him an idiot? How are YOU trying to help the industry?
A day will come when the COVID-19 crisis is behind us. But the decisions being made now will determine what cheer will look like in the future.
