@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Jesus refers to the Father as God because the Father IS God. Jesus is the Father's son. The son isn't also God. The son was flesh, and every word God spoke came to pass.
God's Word is what became reality. All of us. Heaven and earth.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 God speaks a lot. He has many words. In the old testament, you will see a lot of "the word of the LORD".
The Word in particular that became flesh was in Isaiah 7:14.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 God doesn't make it Hard to understand Him. It only becomes hard when man makes up extra stuff about Him that He never said.
God said there is no other like Him and that He is one. The Father is not equal to His son, but greater. The Father appointed His son authority.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Yes, in Revelation, the rider is Jesus. Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of lords, and his name is called The Word of God.
And the Word of God is the WILL of God. God is His Word. Jesus did not follow his own will, but GOD'S will. Jesus' testimony is the spirit of prophecy.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Revelation 19:10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 John 8:39-40
They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
But now ye seek to kill me, A MAN that hath told you the truth, WHICH I HAVE HEARD OF GOD: this did not Abraham.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 I know what begotten means, and it deals with physical birth.
"Eternally begotten" doesn't make sense. Again, instead of only begotten son, we're now removing and adding to God's Word.
The Jews wanted Jesus dead because they were of their father the devil, and Jesus was OF God.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Yes. Jesus' name is The Word of God. Zebedee's is gift of God, and Kushiah's is Bow of the Lord. Names carry meaning, and Jesus' is no different.
And the Word of God, God HIMSELF, testifies of Jesus being His only begotten (born, not eternal) son.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Not assuming, but applying consistent logic to every verse. God doesn't contradict Himself. He does not lie. And Jesus didn't lie because he followed the Father's will.
Man lies, and Satan lies. If you can believe THE ETERNAL HOLY GOD can die, then you can believe anything.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Yeah, he was about to worship an angel, and that angel mentioned both God and Jesus in the same sentence, yet told him to worship God. The angel didn't correct him with "worship Jesus", but to worship God.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 No worries. Even if this discussion doesn't pick up tomorrow (or technically today, just later lol), I still enjoyed talking with you despite our differences.
God bless you, too. Good night.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 The same way when someone is possessed with devils, you don't physically see the devils in that person with your eyes, but you "see" them THROUGH that person and their countenance.
It's the same exact way with God in Jesus. They physically saw Jesus, not physically saw God.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Which is how those two verses I posted don't contradict each other. But they DO contradict each other when you read it through the Trinity lens.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Jesus has flesh and bone. Jesus has a glorified body. God dwells in Jesus' body. God does not have flesh and bone because God is a Spirit. Spirits don't have flesh and bone. Humans do. New creatures in Christ still do because we haven't attained our glorified bodies yet.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 That's exactly what it means.
How do we go from Jesus being the IMAGE of the Father, to being the Father himself? There aren't two Fathers (unless you want to be super technical and say the devil is a father, one of lies, and theresalso two gods, because he's god of this world)
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 Sure. Even replacing Spirit with Ghost holds the same meaning. "The Holy Ghost" is used in place of "The Holy Spirit" at times.
Jesus is still saying Ghosts don't have flesh and bone, and God is a Ghost. Nothing changes.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 If God is the Father, and Jesus isn't exactly the Father, yet he's still somehow God, how does that make any sense to you?
It's hard for anyone to wrap their minds around the IMPLICATIONS the Trinity brings, which is why "it's a mystery" and "Jesus is God" is slapped over it.
@Charlie601611@UltraJulito@BTalk712 You believe what you believe because it's what you were taught. Neither God nor Jesus taught that. And I can't really blame you for initially receiving the Trinity in its neater form of "Jesus is God".
But when you take the time to work it out in your mind, it's a complete mess.
