Yesterday, Professor Mansur Isa Yelwa resigned from his position as imam of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (ATBU) Mosque. The reason, according to this statement, is that members of the Tijjaniyya Sufi order were given permission to build a mosque within the university community without the imam’s knowledge, to him this is a way of introducing sectarianism to the school Islamic affairs.

He also stepped down from his position as the Chief Imam of ATBU. It is said that he deserved to be respected and honored, but that he was not treated that way.

what Professor Mansur did was the right decision, and it will earn him even greater respect. It shows that he values his own dignity he would not humiliate anyone, nor would he allow himself to be humiliated.
