@Kenji35Kt Same, but a lot of games I love are relatable by nature - Dead Cells is a good example. Older but holds up and feels good - it replaying is still entertaining.
Doom works for this rule too - plus so much community made content. Ridiculously vast.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! July 4th is one of my favorite holidays and what better way to celebrate with a double-dose of Doom!
Both maps in this playthrough are titled Fireworks Factory and they're super cool! Check it out!

Requiring devs to pass an AI purity test is wrong. I don't need to know how and whether you used AI to enhance your game, just as I don't need to know who taught you to program or who you call when you can't figure something out. This is dumb and must stop.

I see this so much and it's so on point. GET GOOD.
Developers of days past were able to revolutionize things, create new entire systems of development, get creative with their solutions.
Raw compute power is light years ahead of where we used to be. So what gives?
If the rumors are true, a lot of people are about to get fired in the video game industry. Xbox and its studios are reportedly staring down significant layoffs, and while that always sucks for the individuals involved, this was 100% predictable.
You can’t massively overhire during COVID, balloon game budgets into the hundreds of millions per title, then ship expensive, bloated projects that consistently underperform and expect a different result. This was the logical outcome.
On top of the obvious business incompetence, you had the cultural layer: identity politics injected into creative decisions at every turn and the core audiences dismissed or outright alienated.
When the layoffs drop, expect a ton of hand-wringing and shocked reactions like this is some unforeseen nuclear bomb going off in the industry. Anyone watching this could see this coming from miles away.
You can’t keep doing the same failing formula and act surprised when the whole thing starts collapsing under its own weight. Nobody paying attention should be surprised by this.
The only real hope is that developers take their skills and experience, walk away from the failing big publishers, and build something genuinely great as indies.
In reality? The death cult that helped drive this mess will probably just double down, refuse to learn a single thing and blame “the chuds”
Jeez. They're everywhere. Self-congratulatory game-haters everywhere. Everything they touch is unoriginal, uninteresting, and full of self-inserts. No thanks.
I know a lot of us are pissed at Slay the Spire II for hiring Anita Sarkeesian. She shouldn't be hired for a single role of any kind in the gaming community. She is poison.
This is a good time to let you know Zoe Quinn worked on State of Decay 3 as a Senior Narrative Designer.
