BREAKING! Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Tarafe released after spending 9 years in Saudi prison.

The Saudi authorities have released prominent scholar and preacher Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Tarafe after 9 years of arbitrary detention, according to the SANAD Human Rights Organisation.

Sheikh al-Tarafe was detained in April 2016 over his tweets, calling for justice, the defense of people’s legitimate rights and criticising the government’s policies.

His release comes after years of enforced disappearance and imprisonment, during which he was subjected to harsh conditions, including denial of access to medical care and communication.

According to SANAD, Sheikh al-Tarefe remains banned from publicly speaking, publishing, and travelling.

Muslim woman brutally attacked on New York subway after being asked “Are You Muslim?”

On 18th June, a 55-year-old Muslim woman was brutally attacked on a Queens subway after a man asked, "Are YOU Muslim?" and began punching and kicking her repeatedly.

The man ruthlessly attacked her, punching and slapping her in the face, head and neck repeatedly and kicking her in the face.

The horrific attack continued until the train reached the next stop, where bystanders and the conductor helped alert police.

The suspect, 34-year-old Naved Durni, was arrested and charged with hate crime assault. The victim suffered a concussion, broken nose, bruises and swelling to her eyes and neck, and now struggles to walk.

Traumatised by the attack, she says she can’t stop seeing her attacker's face.
