It was around June this year when @AriasJopet and my @cryptoartph family invited us at BitPinas to their Shared Humanity exhibit and meetup in Baguio this Oct. 12. At that time, it was the only event on that specific date and week and being the early planner that I am, I made plans as early as July and have locked a Baguio trip for that very weekend.

I would like to congratulate you guys for mounting this exhibit!

Truly the NFT space has evolved. No longer do we see skyrocket prices and speculation, and many who were here have left. So why, I asked the speakers, are you still here in the space. We heard different responses.

@ElBonuan (@MaibaStudio), (who I last met in SG, and so I was pleasantly surprised to see him in Baguio, of all places), said he stays because of the tech.

@siftcroix (@TezosPHL) highlighted the still lucrative potential earnings in the space, especially at this point in time when there's not a lot of competition and it's a bit easier to stand out.

@alingjoy20 (@dinatodrowing) says perhaps they are just crazy.

So why stay?

I think what NFTs have unlocked, a verifiable way to find out who truly created a digital item or work (and who truly owns it at a current time), will have wider acceptance in the future. Perhaps its time is still yet to come, and it won't be today.

And so for now, Jopet, Allen, and the many people like them, will be caretakers, making sure the idea of NFTs remain.
