Delusional optimism is a concept I embraced at an early age.

I was the 15 seed in the 2000 State Jr Scratch Bowling Championship. It was my age 16 season.

I had been bowling for 4 years. Everybody seeded around or above me was a year older, and had been bowling for 10+ years.

On paper, I had no chance. Countless people reaffirmed that I had no chance.

I was undeterred.

To make matters worse, I only slept an hour the night before because I was so excited for the tournament.

We bowled 3 games in the morning, and 3 games in the afternoon.

I bowled a 575 in the first set. 50 pins below the leader.

My dad nah waved me when he found out I was down 50, and said he was taking my mom to check out the mall.

I was undeterred.

In the afternoon set, I bowled the best series of my life, 654, and beat the reigning champ by a single pin.

I was the State Champion and went on to represent my state at Nationals later that year.

I believed in myself, and that is all that mattered.

The people who did not believe in me, were irrelevant.

Embrace delusional optimism if you want to perform at your peak and hit ceiling outcomes.

@brett_zky I think the key, esp if you are older and haven’t been lifting… start with low weight and progress reasonably while you perfect the form.

Perfecting the form is what keeps you safe.

Foreign conquest supersedes basic needs.

The people lose faith, and contribute less to society.

I’ve been following the Ukraine Crisis since November of 2013, which began with civil unrest in Kiev leading to the overthrow of the democratic government.

Because all that matters are the choices we make now.

They are already attacking Russia daily by supplying Ukraine with drones, missiles, and intelligence to provide targets and coordinates.

If EU countries attack directly after a Russian strike then it’s all on the up and up.

The war is easy for the EU when Ukrainians, many snatched up by press gangs, are the ones dying.

The war becomes a liability when EU citizens are dying.

I’m afraid the EU really wants this, and that it is inevitable.
