@MuseAthletics_ He did the same thing last year. Got in a groove for a while and really looked good. I was kind of expecting a good season from him this year. I guess better late than never. Maybe he should start preparing for the season a little earlier next spring.

@StraightAs123 I see it as the opposite. Low expectations in year one as you ride out the sac mess. Moving into a new ballpark and new city, a city that players generally like, with a great young core that is generally cost controlled. The Kurtz contract situation will be the 1st big hurdle

@ButlerIsKing He has hit for a very high average at every level when healthy. Let’s not forget his “rookie of the year fumble” began when he fractured his forearm last July. This year it’s been the shoulder. Biggest knock is he has looked injury prone.

@Punchoutpitch @JonHeyman On the surface it looks like a bad move for the A’s but that much money for a C’s 30-32 yo seasons is not a slam dunk financial decision and comes with a lot of risk. Priority is extending Kurtz. Shea is also a few years older than the core we are extending to build with.

@UnderdogMLB @jonmorosi Should trade one of Bolte or Clarke. Both need to play center and both are good enough to start for a lot of teams. Other option is trade butler and move Bolte to right. Thomas and Cortes are bench worthy players that you move since not contending.
