Proverbs 28:1
Loud, obnoxious, and a fool...
...A FOOL FOR CHRIST!
Also a big fan of tractors, cars, and pretty much anything mechanical.
Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus Tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen
Holy Mother Mary, intercede for us that we may remain faithful in these times!
@TheCptGreybeard The Missouri River I think makes a good cultural boundary for the Midwest, because East River SD is much more culturally akin to the Midwest than West River would be.
I love the growing brotherly fraternity online between Brits and Americans. Were we'll give each other crap day on until someone decides to pick on the other. The hands off my trash mentality so to speak.
Think about how merciful that truly is, God created us, and we continue to defy him going so far as to crucify the perfect man, as Plato said. Yet God loves us. Christ conquered death so we may have the chance to be with him in eternity. Yes we offended God and do so continually, He took those sins and by his mercy has given us the chance for forgiveness. Good will always triumph over evil. God will win in the end and He cares for His creation.
I pulled this from a comment I made on Youtube and I believe its worth sharing.
I was born in 2003 and grew up in rural South Dakota, my parents always had phones but I'm pretty sure they didn't get their smart phones until around 2014, we got rid of our landline after some time later. My brothers and I split our time playing outside and playing games inside on our Gamecube then later Wii. Our childhoods were irreplaceable. We grew up being yelled at by my mom for coming home covered in mud, riding my bike to the town pool, racing our friends on our bikes, riding four-wheelers at our grandparents farm, exploring the town, and so much more. My friends and I would ride our bikes to one of the two gas stations in town with our saved up allowances and would blow it all on candy and pop. I don't see that anymore, I think in addition to social media, for various reasons I also think that societal trust en masse removed that. I also see something else, its a feeling that I think all generations go through, the millennials felt it as we grew up, gen x before them, and so on and so forth. As we grow older the world loses a certain sheen it once had and life builds and we make more important decisions than we would as children. This is a fact of life and I believe social media has compounded this into a much more visible light. We can all agree that something changed, and I think its us.
@Catholic_bro I'd say its up to the penitent. I would think that timing of the confession might change that, say you pray your rosary before confession. But ultimately im not going to recommend against praying the rosary.
@JamesRBianco_@madcowpanzer This is insane to even insinuate, Christian Wagner is married and has several kids, by every conceivable notion based off of what he has put out there this conclusion can't follow without severe logical leaps.
@peppersagooddog@DelusionPosting To call that old Buick lame feels wrong. Sure they're not the nicest cars, but the engine they were fitted with is one of the most reliable engines GM has ever made. Not to mention, some models were fitted with a supercharger making it fairly quick for a boat of a car.
Just what do you think mediation is? Because its not spiritual cuckoldry as you have so eloquently described. A better analogy would be both you and your brother want a dog, so you ask your parents. And your brother also asks your parents.
Christ is literally a mediator, He is both God and man and is constantly pleading His cause to humanity. And who died upon the cross for our sins as a form of mediation. His sacrifice is to make up so to speak for all the sins of humanity.
@reddit_lies Also I think it should be important to note that the Korean War never officially ended. This being the result of the Korean Armistice Agreement. Marking the beginning of a continuing ceasefire. While relations remain hostile it is unlikely that the war would reignite.
A decent argument can be made that the US actually won or brought Vietnam to a draw despite its popularity and aftermath. With Operation Linebacker they wiped out nearly the entire enemy air force and increased bombing. This brought the North Vietnamese leaders to the negotiations table. And a treaty was signed. They wanted to create something similar to North and South Korea. Unfortunately in the aftermath the peace didnt hold and North Vietnam invaded the South. This lead to the infamous US pullout of their remaining troops from the South.
