This commonsense bill passed the board of supervisors by a vote of 10 to 1, supported by progressives and moderates alike. Who was the lone dissenting vote? It was Connie Chan, of course, who wakes up every morning to fight against the production of new housing.
We have two good candidates for Congress in San Francisco, but I'm voting for @Scott_Wiener. He's been a tireless fighter for the city, first as a supervisor and then in the State Senate. He takes climate change and clean energy seriously, and he's focused on bringing down costs for Californians.
“Answers like cost and waiting lines are bullshit”
No, actually, these are very real considerations with Medicare for All. Refusing to entertain even the most obvious constraints of every socialized healthcare system in existence is ABSURD.
Either the tax is annual – and in that case it generates revenue annually, and some billionaires leave.
Or the tax is one-time – in that case it generates revenue in just one year, and there is no incentive to leave.
It can’t be both at the same time.
