I'd buy it.
I did Sonic but with the Felidae/Wolf Pack design philosophy. Take the cartoon and add just enough animalistic elements back in to where it retains its coolness but isn't rubberhose anymore. Every time I see someone do a "realistic" Sonic, they tend to add too many hedgehog elements and it winds up being more cute than cool.
For mine, Hedgehogs have round ears, so I gave his more of a curve, because if I made them fully round, he would lose some edge. Instead of making the face fully tan, I kept the stripe down the nose blue to keep that visual separation between the eyes that the brow would usually give you.

I gave him the sunglasses because his forehead looked too blank without them.

Cleaned up with an added member, Cashmere "Cash" the Chao!

(Yes, in place of Maggie the Wisp.) This'd be the same Lanolin who wields a battering ram, and much like their function in Sonic Chronicles, this Chao gives her a little extra "oomph" when she brings it around. You'll often find him climbing atop the battering ram like a miniature mountain goat, since he can't fly.

Cash is very stressed out.
