One year and a day without alcohol as of yesterday, and it's been the best year of my life so far. Thanks to all the great new friends and AF/NA discoveries along the way!
Those amazing cats at Black Lodge (@BlackLodgeNow) will be hosting a fundraiser for local recovery causes this Saturday, April 30. Doors at 7:00, show starts at 8:00, $20 a person, 18+. All proceeds benefit Project WIT and Memphis SMART Recovery Group: https://t.co/W4vHEdDAQE
Recovery Dharma Memphis Sangha is back in action! In person meeting Saturdays @ 10:30am, the Way House @ St. John's (1203 Peabody). Zoom meetings - Thurs. @ 7pm. DM for details!
A 2018 article - the numbers are even higher today as people have changed drinking habits or explored NA options at home during the pandemic: https://t.co/7UfhEuWxkt
FOMO and alcohol-based event planning/marketing - it's a harsh combination that prolonged my decision to give up alcohol for years. I still avoid events where alcohol is the main draw unless I see AF options advertised. https://t.co/LEktG4sUjK
@agile_live I find it hard to fit in with the crowd that I used to drink to fit in with, but not with the wonderful sober friends I've found. It's not worth "boozing" myself down to fit into a world I don't want anymore.
Especially for those inspired to make some life changes after #dryjanuary - it can be difficult when friends don't understand, but believe me, it's worth it. You're not alone, and you'll find a lot of incredible people to share the road with: https://t.co/hWaZ0ochfi

@NikkiSixx@MotleyCrue I'm so happy it's back on! A dear friend's son has Duchenne MD and will be at STL...he's so excited to see his first Crue show, and we've been praying he would still be able to go by the time things got rolling again.
With that said, we also don't need to lose sight of the fact that cost can be a barrier for some. Let's also celebrate the creativity of DIY makers, low-cost ingredients and mindful consumption on every level.
It's a choice I make not only for myself, but for the future: it shows that this is a craft worthy of R&D, it helps my local venues during a difficult time, and it changes the bar mentality to where NA patrons are as important as anyone else. https://t.co/xYl0etSmPI
@4AnimalsGoVegan@Chiefs My biomother's family is from Overland Park, biofather's is from Troost Ave, I grew up in the Northland with many nights spent at either Arrowhead or Kauffman.
@SpiritedAwayNY It's especially great because thanks to Edible Memphis & Spirited A.F.'s January #ChampionSip Mocktail competition, I came out of Dry January knowing a whole lot more year-round 100% sober folks at some of my favorite local places. It feels like a great 2022 ahead!
