The fate of roughly 80,000 people who applied for but haven’t yet been approved for the DACA program rests with Congress after a federal court ruling last week, heightening Democrats’ urgency to pass pathways to citizenship for Dreamers.

Today’s ruling affirms what should never have been in question: every child born here belongs here fully and equally. Birthright citizenship remains law, but we must press forward in the fight for due process, equal protection, asylum, dignity and justice is with urgency.
No longer so young and still waiting on the fulfillment of this promise not just from 14 years ago but since the creation of the U.S. nearly 250 year ago.
14 years ago, America made a promise to the young people who were brought here as children, that if they came forward, followed the rules, studied and worked hard, they could pursue their dreams in the only country they’ve ever known.
It’s up to us to keep that promise.
We must pass the DREAM Act now.
Big Relief for #GreenCard Applicants 🇺🇸
@DHSgov is now clarifying that most immigrants will NOT be required to leave the U.S. to file their COS (I-485).
Officials clarified last week's announcement was not a blanket policy change. Instead, individual immigration officers can decide on a case-by-case basis whether someone must leave U.S. and go to their home country.

🚨 BIG NEWS. A federal court just declared unlawful and blocked a series of Trump admin policies heavily restricting legal immigration since last December.
The judge overturns "pauses" on immigration benefits for nationals of disfavored countries, as well as related policies.
🚨BREAKING: ICE agents just kidnapped 2 high school students as they waited for their school bus.
Max is 15. Israel is 18. They were standing outside their home in Mississippi, waiting for the bus like any normal morning, when unmarked cars pulled up, surrounded them, and agents zip-tied them in front of their family and classmates.
These kids were in the U.S. on student visas. Their host family had legal guardianship paperwork signed by a judge…
and ICE agents shrugged and said it “meant nothing.”
That’s where we are… paperwork signed by a judge means nothing, and a bureaucratic technicality is enough to justify armed agents grabbing unaccompanied TEENAGERS off the street.
Because that’s what this comes down to. A school transfer. Somewhere in that process, their visa status changed without them knowing, without their guardians being notified, and without any chance to fix it.
In any system that respects due process, you get a notice, you get time to respond, you get a chance to correct the issue.
This administration skipped all of that and went straight to detention.
And then they separated them.
A 15-year-old child taken away from his legal guardians, moved out of state, and for days, his family didn’t even know where he was.
So, let’s be honest about what this administration is doing…
They are creating a system where your legal status can disappear without warning, where you can be detained before you even know there’s a problem, and where families can be separated instantly with no transparency, and no accountability.
That is a direct erosion of due process, and it should alarm anyone who understands what constitutional protections are supposed to mean.
Two kids went outside to wait for the bus… and this administration decided to kidnap them.
In last 24 hours we learned:
1) Blind man dies after horrific neglect by DHS
2) DACA recipient deported via expedited removal during LPR hearing
3) private prison contractors seized crayons/drawings from kids at immigrant family jail at Dilley
4) Columbia student taken from dorm
I got a tip yesterday that migrants in detention are having a hard time using ICE’s hotline to report sexual assaults happening within detention facilities. So I decided to call up the hotline myself.
Here’s what I learned. [THREAD]
An unfortunate fact about climate change is that majority of people simply will not care until massive food and water shortages begin. Peoples connection to the land has been so thoroughly severed they don’t care that it’s 80 degrees on christmas bc it’s just “nice weather”.
Which is why I've been telling activists to STOP using the tax argument for our humanity. The institution has never cared and will never care if we pay taxes or not.
The IRS is nearing an agreement to allow immigration officials to use tax data to confirm the names and addresses of people suspected of being in the country illegally.
The IRS has for years reassured undocumented workers that their tax info is confidential and that it's safe to file returns without fear of deportation.

The first sign below is the one people in line could see at DCA this morning: Your photo is "deleted" after your identity is verified.
But TSA posted a second sign—where no one could see it—admitting to the public what I've been saying all along: Your photo will be "saved" for research.
Which is it, @TSA? Are our photos deleted or saved?
🚨SCOOP: Multiple sources tell me ICE is illegally holding migrants in the George Fallon Federal Building in Baltimore, Maryland.
Some have been there for weeks in violation of agency directives, per an attorney: Migrants there have no access to blankets, mattresses, showers, or medical care; and many are now sleeping on the bare floors.
This is a developing story.
Reposting this as a reminder that the Mexican nation-state is part of the same regional security apparatus policing & reinforcing borders, criminalizing migrants, & perpetuating xenophobia. If you' re against ICE in the U.S., by default, you should also be against Mexican migra.
100% people are way closer to being unhoused/ on the streets than being wealthy! But we're socialized to want to look to wealth/ those wealthy and look down on those in precarious situations!
@Ariellex1_ A lot of people don’t realize they could be homeless if that next paycheck doesn’t come when it’s supposed to. Once people start realizing they aren’t too far off from being homeless themselves then they might have a little more empathy.
@ChavezTheRapper Another suggestion "have they contacted their local representative or state senator to express concern" or "attended a local townhall meeting?". Civic engagement exists outside of presidential elections!
Our DACA Fund is here:

We open and close it as funding comes, so when it says the DACA Scholarship is sold out, it means we currently do not have funds. You would have to sign up for restock alerts so that when we have funds, you can be notified.
