@dingwallr Another possibility: there is a blacklist of card IDs that have been revoked. Any balance tampering is identified async overnight, and blacklist syncd down to every reader. So at most u get to enjoy ur hacked balance for a day. Sounds crazy, but I’ve seen this in Asia.

@onzo_nz finally got a chance to try out a bike. Good trip around welly waterfront. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism failed to engage when I held it closed. Is this a known issue? Please end the trip for me.
