Great honour joining Kenya's para athletics & para weightlifting stars today at the Commonwealth Sport GAPS Showcase, hosted by @UniWestScotland with @Commonwealth_Sp and Ayrshire Council.

Minister Marie Todd welcomed us back to Glasgow, 11 years after 2014, for 11 days of sport. Powerful panels on breaking down policy, institutional and attitudinal barriers to disability inclusion in sport exactly the spirit of GAPS: Gather, Adjust, Prepare, Sustain.

Proud of Team Kenya's para athletes preparing to compete on the biggest stage. With #12CSMM on 22 July and #Glasgow2026 opening 23 July, momentum is building.

H.E. Amb @MMakoloo joined Team Kenya’s para athletics and para weightlifting competitors during the GAPS showcase @UniWestScotland ahead of their competition at #Glasgow2026 Commonwealth Games.

Scotland’s Sports Minister @MareeToddMSP welcomed member states back to Glasgow, host city in 2014, for 11 days of sport. Panel discussions examined policy, institutional and attitudinal barriers to disability inclusion themes central to GAPS’ mission of embedding meaningful inclusion across Commonwealth sport.

The event comes ahead of the 12th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting on 22 July and the official opening of #Glasgow2026 on 23 July.

Kenya goes into these Games determined to build on the 21 medals won in Birmingham 2022, with hopes of surpassing that tally significantly.
