@MorningJoe Kirk’s widow is the first to forgive assassin? Charleston Church Shooting (2015), just 2 days after a white supremacist murdered 9 Black parishioners at Mother Emanuel AME Church, several victims' family members forgave the murderer and were praying for his soul.
It inflicted wounds on our democracy.
We can hold two truths: that gun violence and political assassinations are intolerable, and that Kirk’s rise exposed an epic strain of hatred we must confront. Mourning violence does not mean sanitizing the legacy of those who spread it.
@MSNBC I’m sickened by how some politicians, journalists, and pundits, are twisting themselves into knots to soften Charlie Kirk’s legacy. Let’s be clear: he built his successful platform by stoking hate and white supremacy.
His movement thrived not just on rhetoric, but on intimidation.
Political violence must be condemned, always. I do not rejoice in his death or any death. But we cannot allow a rebranding of Kirk into martyrdom. His message did real harm. It radicalized young people.
@SenMikeLee Disgusting hypocrite. You make gross jokes blaming Waltz for this horrific murders. You are a shameful excuse of a human being. You are absolutely no leader. You’re an embarrassment to Utah and the US.
@UPS I paid more than 2X the value of a cookie jar to ship. It had great sentimental value bc it was personalized w my dog’s name, who recently passed. I was gifting it to a friend who recently adopted a sweet pup w the same name. It was heartbreaking to learn it arrived BROKEN.
