During my last visit to US two weeks ago, I decided to bring a piece of New York to kids in Tesano, just like old times when uncles travel abroad, they spoil you with gifts. I spent yesterday afternoon with them. #idey4u
I didn’t hear any reports of vote buying in the just ended NPP internal elections.
No TV sets or Kosua ne meko. That’s a really good thing. Congratulations to the Party
A must read ‼️‼️‼️
I’ll never forget October 1, 2026 Especially what happened to me as a content creator.
The day before, September 30, I spiralled.
I had just returned from Damongo. I hadn’t really rested, but I went out to shoot content because I needed to get it to my graphics guy for some animations.
While filming at Lapaz, we were confronted by some hawkers who thought we were recording them so authorities could come and drive them away from the roadside. A guy grabbed my phone, people gathered around us and, for a moment, it felt like things could get really bad.
It was embarrassing. It was exhausting. And honestly, it got to me
That night, I went on X and talked about how low my views had been. It wasn’t the first time I had felt that way, but something about that day broke me a little.
I posted and I slept.
Then I woke up. I saw plenty notifications
“KSS sent me.”
I started seeing the comments under my video.
At first, I thought it was the usual repost. But it wasn’t.
Then I opened X
@kwadwosheldon had reposted my content, acknowledged the work I’ve been doing and told people I deserved the views. He went even further and offered to have me collaborate with his page from now until the end of the year.
and personally messaged me, encouraged me and told me not to give up.
And then the love started coming.
People I didn’t even know started finding me. Sharing my work. Subscribing. Sending me messages. Giving me feedback.
In less than 24 hours, I gained over 1,000 subscribers.
The video is closing in on 60,000 views.
Then @EiiScanty came through too. And so many other people shared the video that I honestly can’t name everyone.
I also woke up to other good news from opportunities I had applied for months ago.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, I received the most beautiful message from a young man I’ve been supporting over the past few months, telling me how much my presence had meant to him.
I cried.
Because sometimes life gives you so many reminders in one day that you can’t help but stop and say, “God, I hear You.”
And then came the moment that completely finished me.
Sheldon posted a video and, at the end, mentioned my name and asked people to go subscribe to my channel.
That meant more to me than I can properly explain.
Sheldon, you are my brother. You’ve seen my work for a while, and I know this wasn’t just about one post or one bad day.
I genuinely appreciate you for seeing me, encouraging me and using your platform to open a door for me.
You didn’t have to do any of this. But you did. And I will never forget it.
May God bless you tremendously. May He continue to enlarge your territory and keep you as one of the people pushing the new media space forward.
To Scanty, everyone who reposted, subscribed, commented, sent me a DM, gave me constructive criticism about my thumbnails, content and channel, and everyone who simply said “keep going” thank you.
I have read so many of your messages.
I’m listening. I’m learning. And I’m taking the feedback seriously.
Yesterday I was questioning my journey. Today, I’m reminded why I must keep going.
October 1, 2026.
I will never forget you
Look at how they are carrying out the demolition, ignoring the pleas of residents and deploying heavy military presence. That alone should tell you they can end galamsey if they really want to, they are just not ready to fight it.
Mustapha, I believe it is important to draw a line here. I don’t do X banter, particularly when it involves subtly pitching women against one another.
Colourism is real, it is harmful, and it is absolutely a conversation worth having. But I will not allow my image or the virality of my post to be used as a vehicle for that conversation at the expense of another woman’s beauty.
Black women come in different shades, features and expressions of beauty. The fact that people find me beautiful does not make another Black woman less beautiful, nor does it automatically mean that the appreciation of my beauty is rooted in a preference for lighter skin or white women.
Neither does it suggest that women whose partners engage with the post are somehow being “managed”.
If we are going to have an honest conversation about colourism, then let’s have that conversation on its own terms, without using one woman’s beauty to diminish, question or create a comparison with another.
I am comfortable with my beauty being appreciated, and I will always be equally comfortable celebrating the beauty of other Black women. There is room for all of us.
