While the Roald Dahl edit was certainly a significant victim of Woke 1, I think about Montez Lee, a career criminal who killed a 30 year old father of five by burning him alive while he was trapped in his small business during the Minneapolis riots, and the Biden DOJ got him leniency, citing MLK’s statement that “riots are the language of the unheard.” But the Roald Dahl edit was also bad.

I wasn't even aware VLC had a startup service and I wouldn't enable it if it did because why the hell does a media player need to be always-on when not playing media?
All I know is that 1-2 years ago VLC would launch instantaneously when opening any media file and now it takes 10-15 seconds, although once it opens one I can close that window and open another and it opens fast like it should. Then after a few hours it'll be slow again.
