May 14 will forever be known as Ruth Scott Day at UNK and @UNMCCOM

Chancellor Schnoor and interim Chancellor Davies shared a joint proclamation today recognizing Ruth and her family for the profound and lasting impact they’ve made on both campuses and the entire University of Nebraska System.

Numerous projects and initiatives have benefited from their generosity, including the Douglas A. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex, which went from dream to reality thanks to a lead gift from the William and Ruth Scott Family Foundation.

Chancellor Schnoor and former Chancellor Kristensen also presented Ruth with the Ron and Carol Cope Cornerstone of Excellence Award – the university’s highest honor.

As Ruth says, “A pile of money is like a pile of manure – it does no good until it is spread around.”

Thank you Ruth for being the remarkably humble, infinitely generous and thoroughly delightful chief driver of Nebraska’s most distinguished manure spreader.
