The Xijiao, or Western Suburban, tram line in northwestern Beijing, is one of the city’s hidden gems. Get your cameras out and look out the window — the views are amazing. A pity this and Yizhuang Tram Line 1 are the city’s only two “real” tram lines in the subway network.

The Xijiao Line is the city's first modern tramline. Connecting from Beijing Metro Line 10, the tram offers a scenic way to travel to famous Haidian landmarks, including the Summer Palace and the Fragrant Hills.
