My brother who hasn’t turned on his PS3 or used PSN in over 10 years decided to boot up his ps3 to play something that is currently DOWNLOADED on the console.
Licenses are expired and his PSN account is deleted. So games are gone forever
WOOOOO!!!!!
Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser on Physical Media:
“I love physical media, I think everyone does. If people want that, I think companies should provide it.”
¡Por fin, viernes por la tarde, al vicio!
Voy a jugar al MediEvil, que tengo ganas. Oh! Vaya… no puedo.
No pasa nada, pues al Ender lilies. Oh! Tampoco… que los 2 son digitales y están los servidores de PlayStation caídos.
Pues al Uncharted que es FÍSICO y ✨SI PUEDO JUGAR✨
@Dexerto The dislike button brought us the recreation of the sonic movie design. If it weren't for it then we would've had a very odd looking sonic movie.
🔵 PlayStation is delisting all PS3 and PS Vita storefronts, removing 500+ videos and sunsetting discs

Crazy how far Sony has fallen off in terms of reputation and love from gamers between PS4 era and July 1, 2026🚀
✅Disappointing first party games for PS5
✅Barely noticeable generational leap
✅Push for live service failed miserably
✅Many games cancelled
✅Many studio closed, some with no games
✅Bungie deal biggest waste of money
✅Plan to end physical games by Jan 2028
And now they’re accused of (not officially confirmed but speculated based on data and reports):
✅Engineering and exaggerated data to claim physical discs don’t sell
✅Attempting to create a monopoly
✅Claims or using bots to defend digital-only gaming future
It’s really sad to watch, especially after Sony was the untouchable darling of the industry just few years ago.
They really need to do away with those tone-deaf and creatively bankrupt CEOs and bring Shuhei Yoshida, who’s actually passionate about games and gamers.
Keep up the pressure
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
Microsoft has restored a player’s access to his 25-year-old account, which contained his son's baby photos and thousands of dollars worth of games. https://t.co/F4fMKKrnyH
Former PlayStation boss says he doesn’t want to see Xbox fall behind, even after years of competing with Microsoft.
Looking back at the PS3 and Xbox 360 era, Layden said the rivalry between PlayStation and Xbox made the whole industry better.
“Everybody had team blue or team green, whichever it was, that they were supporting. And it was so vibrant that it elevated the entire gaming industry,”
Layden also warned that having “one dominant player” isn’t good for gaming because there’s less pressure to innovate. That’s why he’d like to see Xbox “get some of its mojo back.”
An Xbox player in Brazil sued Microsoft after his Xbox account was hacked and locked and Microsoft told him to make a new account and buy his games again
The court ordered Microsoft to restore his old account and pay him $400
Mexican lawmakers are preparing to file an antitrust complaint against Sony over its reported plan to stop releasing new physical PlayStation games after 2028.
They argue that if the PlayStation Store becomes the only place to buy new PS5 games, Sony could gain too much control over prices and distribution.
The complaint will reportedly be filed by Federal Representative Iraís Reyes and Senator Luis Donaldo Colosio with Mexico’s competition authority. They argue that:
- Without physical copies, PlayStation users would lose the ability to shop around for the best prices.
- Retailers that sell new games could be pushed out of the market.
- The second-hand and game-trading market would effectively disappear.
- Sony would have greater control over game pricing and distribution through the PlayStation Store alone.
- Developers and publishers could become more dependent on Sony’s platform and its commercial terms.
Xbox just hired Matthew Ball as their new Chief Strategy Officer.
This is the same guy who’s spent years saying Xbox needs to actually make more games, build a stronger console business, and stop relying so heavily on Game Pass.
Asha bringing him in from the outside looks like a smart move. She’s clearly not afraid to hire people who’ve been critical if it means actually fixing things.
This is the kind of decision that shows she’s serious about turning things around.
