A great conversation about the STEM v. humanities debates. They don't help anyone and further divide us. Thanks, @AllisonHutchiso , for this excellent thread.
Writing Centers are great places where STEM and humanities folks work together. Let's see this happen elsewhere!
📖⏲️ I want to tell a story because of the recent STEM vs humanities takes. Sometimes these convos further entrench binaries & paint one discipline as a hero & another as a villain.
I like to consider myself a mixed methods researcher, although my training is in humanities.
Yesterday evening the @UofSCCRC, the Cecil Williams’ Civil Rights Museum, and @orangeburglib hosted a special discussion about Orangeburg, South Carolina’s Civil Rights Movement. We had the honor of hosting students who desegregated Orangeburg’s school system in 1964. 1/4
Claire, one of the Writing Center's assistant directors, makes amazing boards for us!
Is it even fall if you don't go to the Writing Center at least once? At least come for the amazing fall view of the Horseshoe!
We are pleased to co-sponsor a free public lecture given by Dr. Marc Dollinger on Monday November 7th, from 2-3:30 pm, at the Anne Frank Center. Professor Dollinger is the Goldman Chair in Jewish Studies and Social Responsibility at San Francisco State University. 1/2
