Gearing up to receive H.E the President @KagutaMuseveni. UPIK is privileged to host the dialogue between H.E. and the leaders of Bunyoro under the theme: "Securing your Future Through Wealth Creation and Shared Prosperity"
At the #OilSkillsExpoUg24 , the State Minister of Mineral Development @MEMD_Uganda , Hon. @PNyamutoro, emphasized the significance of national content in Uganda's rapidly growing oil and gas sector.
She noted that by June 2024, out of the 14,607 individuals employed in the sector, over 90% were Ugandan, with 4,995 locals directly employed.
This achievement reflects the successful implementation of the national content policy, which aims to maximize the participation of Ugandans in the oil and gas value chain.

The oil and gas sector in Uganda presents several opportunities for the education sector:
1. With the growth of the oil and gas industry, there is an increasing demand for skilled workers in various technical fields such as welding, instrumentation, electrical engineering, and mechanics.
The education sector is responding by offering vocational training programs tailored to the specific needs of the industry, thereby equipping individuals with the skills needed to secure employment in the sector.
The third panel session of the day is currently underway with the focus being on the education sector opportunities created by the oil and gas sector. The panelists are discussing the changing face of education, skilling and capacity building in light of the oil and gas sector.
