We had a very nice spell of rain this afternoon.

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

The lions are back. Lots of sightings and roars recently. Game are becoming more prevalent with impala lambs dominating the scene!

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Had good rain today! Windy conditions. Ideal poaching conditions, evident in the number of recent incidents to the east of UPNR.

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Summer is not holding back today! Vegetation looks progressively greener in the north as a result of all the new mopani leaves.

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Humidity is running high. Thunder in the background, rain bound to come!

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Overcast yet humidity rules! Tiring to be quite honest.

A tribute to Mac. What a fantastic elephant he was!

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

The news got out that Mac, the great elephant tusker was found dead. Causes unknown. Tusks recovered but may have been a victim to poaching.

Dead leopard found outside Ingwelala camp. Confirmed that it was indeed the Argyle male. Sad to say goodbye to such a magnificent specimen.

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Seems like its going to be a nice cool day. A good time to go and explore the largest block on UPNR.

How to remove a python from the road...

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Exciting prospect, UPNR website to be launched soon!

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Cold conditions prevailing! Some people even witnessed switching on heaters... I say enjoy it while it lasts!

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Had our fist rain of the season. 10 mm's. Ground is nice and wet!

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

In Pretoria and for the first time in 2 years I missed the reserve during the first day. What a privilege it is to live permanently on UPNR.

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Had a extremely hot day yesterday. Cooler conditions today. Knob thorn and marula trees giving green flavor to the pale bush!

[Umbabat Warden @UPNRwarden]

Had a rough two days fighting fires. 1043 ha burned down. Fire originated from a waste burning site!
