UPDATE: Smoke visible near Forest Lakes is on Forest Service land. We are currently assisting the Forest Service with the initial attack. Helicopters have been deployed to provide suppression with water drops. We also had reports of smoke near Bear Creek Rd it is just residual.

The Vosburg Pike Fire is located between CR 502 & CR 228. Evacuations have been made for homes within a ½ mile radius of CR 228; homes within a two mile radius are on pre-evacuation. CR 228 is CLOSED. An evacuation center is being set up at Florida Mesa Elementary, 216 Hwy 172.

Fire managers on the #SanJuanNF are meeting today with partner agencies to plan for implementation of Stage 1 fire restrictions this week. In the meantime, we can all do our part to prevent human-caused wildfires during the week's excessive heat and ongoing extreme drought.
