Drone technology has become an essential tool across public safety—supporting search & rescue missions, assisting law enforcement during critical incidents, and providing real‑time aerial awareness at large fire scenes. A big thank‑you to UPT Police Sgt. Solorio for coordinating
On Tuesday night, our team hosted a joint drone training session that included a review of recent FAA updates followed by several standardized NIST proficiency tests.
These quick‑trial evaluations help ensure pilots maintain strong fundamentals—aircraft control, safety checks, & consistent operational proficiency. We were joined by FAA‑licensed Remote Pilots from the @UpperProvPolice, Lower Providence Twp Police & Friendship Fire Co SAR team.
Mon 6/1 2pm: @ConstellationEG will test sirens around Limerick Clean Energy Center (formerly Limerick Gen. Station). There is no emergency or cause for concern. In a real emergency, sirens are not a signal to evacuate, but a warning to tune to an Emergency Alert TV/radio station
Our flag is at half-staff at the direction of the Governor in honor of the memory of Central Berks Regional Police Ofc Kristen Yeager who died in the line of duty on Friday.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fellow officers at this difficult time.
Squad 68 had responded to the same address the previous night at 10:03 p.m. for a similar concern. No fire was found at either incident. Concrete dust from saws & gas‑powered tools being used in an adjacent vacant suite activated the alarms and created the reported conditions.
At 8:03 a.m. Friday, Squad 68 (C Platoon) was dispatched to the 100 block of Market St in the Providence Town Center for a reported gas odor/leak inside a commercial building. A fog/haze was also reported inside, prompting the incident to be upgraded to a building fire response.
