Shivani, I have to say this first… you’re such an incredible writer. ❤️ I genuinely love reading everything you write.
Also… getting Datta to talk this much genuinely feels like an achievement. 😂 He’s usually the one asking all the questions, never answering them.
The recovery experiments at home are all true too. 😭 @deepigoyal got him sold on an inversion table after reading and testing a thesis while building Temple. Another dear friend convinced him that red-light therapy was the answer. Then, one fine morning, a temperature-controlled mattress magically appeared. Tart cherry juice became compulsory before bed. Recovery boots. Breathing drills. Cryotherapy. At this point I don’t even ask questions anymore… I just say, “Okay… what’s today’s experiment?” 😂 His latest obsession is somehow finding a hyperbaric chamber. I made the mistake of looking it up… and it’s literally a giant metal tube. 😭 Strangely enough, a lot of these bizarre things are actually starting to make sense.
As romantic as it sounds that I spend hours watching films with my husband… I should clarify they’re badminton films. 😭 His team cuts footage from the last five years into endless clips, and we sit there watching them over and over again. So no… not exactly The Notebook. 😂
One thing I’ll always be grateful for, though, is Virat bhai. I reached out to him at one of the lowest points of my career. Injuries were piling up, the results weren’t coming, and I just needed someone who understood. He replied within minutes, and we met the very next day.
What we spoke about will always stay between us. But I’ll always be grateful that when I needed someone, he was there. He didn’t say much, but every word stayed with Datta and me. Some conversations change the way you see things. That was one of them. ❤️
The biggest thing I took away was the importance of finding your joy again.
Today, I know exactly why I wake up for those 5:30 a.m. sessions.
And I can honestly say… it isn’t the trophies.
It isn’t the wins. It’s something much deeper.
And this time, I’ll protect it with everything I have. ❤️
@runjhunmehrotra I have it memorised. Dad used to recite it every morning when I was a child and I learned it before I started reading.. I think it is possible to memorise it if recited daily. ✨
The Doorman Fallacy
'You have a five-star hotel and it has a doorman, welcoming incoming guests.
McKinsey or Accenture will come in and say, “Your doorman currently costs you X thousand dollars a year. We have defined his or her function as opening the door. We’ll replace said doorman with an automatic door-opening mechanism and an infrared human detector and we’ll save you $30–$40,000 a year.”
They walk away, and they take the credit for the cost savings. Two years later, the hotel’s a catastrophe ... because the doorman was doing multiple things, many of which were human and kind of tacit.
Security would be one; there are no vagrants asleep in the doorway. Hailing taxis, dealing with luggage, recognizing regular guests, providing status to the hotel—there are loads and loads of value creation components to that doorman which aren’t captured in the open-the-door definition."
It's easy to see the visible things, but the invisible things make the difference.
Do you know the significance of the mantra being recited?
This is the essence for a Vaidik Nation, symbolising that this act is the first step towards reviving Aryavarta.
Mantra is -
Yajurveda 22,22
It means -
O Supreme consciousness, in our great nations, may the Brahmins (Scholars) attain the wisdom of Vedas, may our Kshatriyas (Warriors) be fearless and destroyer of our enemies. May we have plenty of cows nourishing us, may we have enough resources to drive our nation forward. May our women excel in evey field. May our youth be intelligent, active and successful. In our nation, may we have brave men. May the coulds bring rain, may the foods grown here be nourishing for us. May we as a nation achieve whatever is good for us.
This mantra is really beautiful.
When I started competing, I had a small dream - to one day compete alongside the able-bodied and win medals ♥️ I didn’t make it at first, but I kept going, learning from every setback.
Now, that dream is one step closer. 🌟
In the Asia Cup trials, I secured Rank 3 and will now represent India in the Asia Cup - in the able-bodied category. 🇮🇳
Dreams take time. Work. Believe. Repeat. 💫
abrahamic faiths are apps (self contained, with one set of instructions & permissions), whereas hinduism feels more like an os with a kernel + a bunch of shells, endlessly extensible, backwards compatible with ancient scripts, etc.
measure the distance between what you say and what you do. that distance is your entire problem. the closer those two points get to each other, the more powerful you become. when they become the same point, you become unstoppable
The world is about to realise that Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior are just rebranded Shenzhen factory products.
The luxury illusion is about to collapse.
What a time to be alive.
