@AngelaBelcamino Beyond the obvious infantile stupidity of it, interesting he’s pursued this. He doesn’t have the power to enforce it. Outside of the US, and in Canada in particular, we’ll just ignore it or laugh at it. (He does need to apologize to the Wyandot people who named it 400 yrs ago)
@Sean_Speer 1) US admin is forever bad faith actor & Canada needs to mitigate its destructiveness on our economy; 2) Canada does not have to outlast US in trade war, just Trump, until midterms castrate him; 3) All of this assumes American voters pay attention & Dems get their sh*t together
@samstein@TheRickWilson Canada doesn’t have to win a trade war against the U.S. - it never could. It just has to outlast Donald Trump, who is already bleeding from massive unpopularity.
It’s official: Ontario’s new advertising campaign in the U.S. has launched.

Watch our new ad.
@LAEOMknits@krassenstein Canada needs to cough up this level of specificity on their reasons for stepping back. I have no doubt Lutnick screwed things up and there were last minute American demands, but Canada needs to be more transparent about what went wrong for us the take them seriously
@ambermac@jeffmacarthur I see an imminent data centre collapse on the horizon- compute capabilities (and efficiencies) are catching up and we are going to see buildings left emptied because everyone we desperate to build these when improvements in cooling and water use are on the horizon.
@nowthisimpact Powerful speech. Now can she acknowledge that none of the principal cast in The Odyssey are Greek, and that Hollywood’s money machine continues to appropriate the literature and creativity of other cultures without giving them the recognition and compensation they deserve.
@gomtuu359@AlexTaylorNews Show some respect. The French were huge supporters of the Revolutionary War (look up Lafayette), which inspired (but was NOT the cause of) France’s own journey towards republican government.
@brendan_samek It’s actually a collection of buildings and features, starting with the Rideau canal entry, Chateau Laurier, West and East block, Confederation Building, Supreme Court, all atop a huge forested riverbank. Here’s a shot without Centre block
