St. Angela Merici created a new path for women—neither marriage nor the cloister but life in the world, rooted in prayer, service, & leadership. In 1535, she founded the Company of St. Ursula. Ursuline schools now span the globe, educating, inspiring, and empowering young women.

St. Angela Merici named her Company of women for St. Ursula, a Medieval saint revered as a courageous leader who displayed conviction & deep faith. Her choice signaled an active, world‑engaged mission. Ring Day at Ursuline is in October to honor St. Ursula’s Oct. 21 Feast Day.
