I’ve just been in the centre of the gulf war in qatar for almost a month and watching the social media like everyone else. now in the rural areas it is bad in Australia IF YOU DRIVE DEISEL which is most farmers and my taxi ride back from the airport the driver had a big tank and it now cost him $180 a tank to fill instead of $90 because he drives deisel and he’s stressing as he has no other income and no one in the taxi industry has increased the price for a ride (so i tipped him a huge amount for the fuel). And the same with farmer who are paying the price spike in inputs and fuel as it’s critical but it’s close to growing will be a loss as the market is not paying for these increases.
But unlike Thailand where I’ve just been a week where their 69,000,000 person strong population is already on fuel rations and our hotel was only 1/2 full, Australia where I just flew into this morning and is having “ busy” times it’s not like Asian countries with long lines. This is tonight i filled up and drove past 4 stations at 9:30pm inner city on a sunday night.
I just felt we needed some perspective
It will hit here but slower than other countries.
But notice despite cost of fuel (of which 50% is tax theoretically to pay for road maintenance), It’s not busy on the roads or the stations. I know normal sunday night, but these are abnormal times anc it will hit here slower .
why don’t we have enough fuel in a mineral rich country? Because it’s all owned by Shell, Blackrock, BHP etc and we don’t own it! it all goes elsewhere,

Why We Don’t Chase Virality
Virality burns hot and dies fast.
We’d rather build reach the way we build deals — steadily, deliberately, and with the right audience in mind. Do you optimise for numbers or for depth?
