You claim Jesus says polygamy = adultery. I ask for a reference where he said this and you replied talking about the sabbath day. That is the "leap" I took to say you have no evidence Jesus said it and it is your words not his judging Joseph Smith. Since you don't have the reputation of Jesus you named dropped to add his name to your claim.
@crusaderfidelis@pimomormon Reference where Jesus cinema all polygamy? Have prophets of God ever been falsely accused of being wicked when they followed God?
People say ignorant things all the time. I think Cabot Phillips doesn't do this regularly. He also wasn't doing it on his show and marketing false information. I think people in the church should have chilled out some. @RealMattFradd is different in my opinion. Being hyper sensitive isn't great. I think we should of born testimony to Cabot rather than whining about the daily wire.
I agree. Lie if you want to criticize and stratagem if you want childish tests for prophets designed to excuse you from listening to God's commands. I am fine with either term although I think using lie is probably leads to justifying dishonesty by some and defamation of God and his servants by others.
That's what the Sadducees and Pharasees were saying when the Son of God came. His message didn't match what they thought they knew was true. Reminds me of the parable of the wicked husbandman (Mark 12:1-12). So much of what is taught about the nature of God just isn't true nor biblical. I think whenever you think God will not send authoritative messengers you are wrong. That doesn't mean everyone claiming to be authoritative is true, but I would prayerfully consider their message and not reject it off hand. I would be interested in what evidence you have that we are so wrong it is a non-starter?
@PeacemakingSt I still am. On balance I think they make the country better and a little persecution is good for the faith. That said, Pints with Aquinas makes me think Candice Owen's isn't the most destructive host to go through the organization.
As always, @andrewklavan says things that are true but partially missapplied. I do think there is a little too much pearl clutching among the members of the church and sometimes misplaced outrage. That said.
23 And I said unto him: Lord, the Gentiles will mock at these things, because of our weakness in writing; for Lord thou hast made us mighty in word by faith, but thou hast not made us mighty in writing...
26 And when I had said this, the Lord spake unto me, saying: Fools mock, but they shall mourn; and my grace is sufficient for the meek, that they shall take no advantage of your weakness;
27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
Ether 12
@Un_B_Weavable If he repented that sounds like at least one thing he did. Does that tell us anything about his religious life and upbringing before that point? Does that prove he was never a follower of John the Baptist?
What a surprise. @logicallyspeak7 didn't answer with a single reason why someone may question the NY verdicts. Probably because you are too narrow minded to even consider perspectives you don't like. I don't need to be elected a judge of anything to know killing millions of babies is morally bad. Who elected you to judge fraud or felon politicians? No one. Your standard is illogical because if applied at all consistently it just means anarchy. In all seriousness, with arguments like this you should follow @LDS_Dems strategy and just make outlandish initial comments and then not reply so your username isn't proven to be a farce.
Are you actually claiming that the federal judiciary unconstitutionally mandating abortions be allowed settled the moral issue? I don't think the discussion was the issue. I think killing the babies is the problem. But I guess Trump was convicted of paperwork errors so I guess I can get on board with the industrial slaughter of babies, its only logical. In your claim on the adjudicated offender case (I assume the NY E. Jean Carroll), can you list for me 5 issues with the trial that may cause people to question its fairness? Since you are not blind like me I am sure we have read some of the same stuff on it so you can understand people that think differently before you call them all idiots since you are so logical.
For someone that claims to speak logically I see a lot of name calling. Perhaps you should advertise more honestly as emotionally_speaking. You failed to even acknowledge that there are serious moral compromises that are made to support either party. I named one specific example of why I prefer Trump to Dems. Address it logically or change your handle.
