Dog Dies After Alleged Abuse At Boat Ramp

Middleburg, Florida - Investigators are searching for a group of children after a small Chihuahua mix allegedly suffered horrific abuse at the Main Street Boat Ramp and later died.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, 4 to 5 children, believed to be between 9 and 13 years old, were seen throwing the dog into the water, holding it underwater, and physically abusing it. A family rescued the dog, but it died a few days later.

If your child was at the boat ramp on May 17, please talk to them. Detectives need help identifying those involved.
