On this National Day of Mourning, we remember President Jimmy Carter (1924-2024) and his enduring legacy of service to others. This photo captures his dedication to Habitat for Humanity, reflecting a lifetime of humanitarian work that touched countless lives across our nation.
They learned how a Court Reporter documents court proceedings and the dangers of credit card debt. Clerk Ekman administered the oath to 28 new U.S. citizens from 19 countries. Magistrate Judge Murray presided, leading the Pledge of Allegiance and singing "This Land Is Your Land."
On July 19, 2024, court staff and their children joined the "Our Kids in the Courthouse" program. They met judges, court staff, and U.S. Marshals, observed court proceedings, and toured the U.S. Marshal Service, learning the importance of security in the judicial process.

In April, students from Dallas County High, Meadowview Christian, Selma High, Southside High, Keith Middle-High, and Morgan Academy joined for a special CD3 program at the historic U.S. Courthouse in Selma. Led by Judge Bradley Murray, they participated in an engaging mock trial!
We recently welcomed UMS Wright students to participate in our Civil Discourse and Difficult Decisions program. They took on roles of attorneys and jurors, prepared with real lawyers, and presented arguments to Magistrate Judge Murray!

U.S. District Judge Kristi K. DuBose, Mobile, Alabama, welcomed 30 new U.S. citizens at a naturalization ceremony held @UofSouthAlabama Mitchell Center.
