First off, climate change isn't about waste though, it's about co2 emissions. Per capita co2 emissions in india are very low compared to the western world and in china, despite china containing 30% of global manufacturing, their per capita co2 emissions is the same level as Europe, and lower than Americas

Secondly of course china and india are the biggest waste producers, they have the two biggest populations in the world. You have to look at per capita waste production.

By the time a person is 16 years old, vast majority of people are already post pubescent, meaning their secondary sex characteristics have already finished developing. This is why in Europe for example where I live, there is not a single country where the age of consent is 18, it's usually 16, because European leaders, be they left wing or right wing, realize being attracted to people have finished developing physically is normal and criminalizing it, is dumb.

You’re still stopping one step into the argument. Say someone steals because they can’t afford it. Fine. What happens next? The store paid for that stock and now has less revenue to replace it and cover its costs. Their reason for stealing doesn’t change that.

If the losses keep happening, the store has to respond somehow. Locks, higher prices where customers will pay them, fewer products, reduced hours, or eventually closing if the location stops being viable. None of those outcomes helps the person who was already struggling to afford groceries. Now they can have fewer options and a longer, more expensive trip to another store too.

That’s the point. Removing the locks doesn’t remove the cost. It leaves the store to absorb it or respond in some other way, and those responses can hurt paying customers and workers as well.

So what are you actually proposing? If it’s making food more affordable, explain how. If it’s expecting shops to accept recurring theft, explain how that improves access over time. Just saying “owner class” doesn’t answer who covers the losses or what happens when they won’t.

Yes, the owners put the locks there. That’s the most surface level observation possible. The question is why. Stores lock high theft items when the losses from leaving them open start outweighing the cost and inconvenience of locking them up.

But if they out no locks there, it would be worse, no locks -> more theft -> less inventory, higher security and labor costs, and potentially higher prices. Keep going -> stores cut selection, reduce hours, stop carrying certain products, or in severe cases close locations. Then you get fewer local jobs, less competition, longer trips for groceries, and worse access for everyone who actually pays. Or they can just avoid this by installing locks.

And if you want to avoid the locks in the first place, the answer is pretty simple is to keep theft low enough that leaving products openly accessible is cheaper than locking them up. That means people not stealing, stores actually confronting repeat theft by allowing security guards to do their job, and allowing law enforcement to actually enforce to law and lock up people who steal instead of not pursuing people who steal.

What does this have to do with infantilization to acknowledge that outside of the west, majority of humanity are excited about AI, and view it positively. For example a week ago, I was watching this lifestreamer who went to the Philippines, and as he was walking around, almost every single small business were using AI for posters, menus, advertisement etc.

So if someone comes from a culture where AI is viewed positively and sets up shop in the US, and you think western culture where people look down upon AI is superior, and you start harassing these people because of it. That's not a good thing.
