If you wish to reach high, then begin at the lowest level. If you are trying to construct some mighty edifice in height, you will begin with the lowest foundation. This is humility.
-St. Augustine
Anyone else feel like Australian corporate life has become completely cooked?
Not sure if this is a rant or if I’m just burnt out, but Australian corporate life feels genuinely cooked at the moment.
Hiring is a mess. So many jobs feel like they’re already filled before they’re advertised, but you still have to jump through 3–4 interviews, do the awkward “why do you want to work here” dance, then get ghosted or sent a generic rejection three weeks later.
Then you finally get a job and half the time it’s endless restructures, new priorities, new managers, new acronyms, new “ways of working”, but somehow the actual workload only ever goes one way.
The fake positivity does my head in too. Everyone pretending to be excited about “change” and “culture” while quietly drowning. Morning teas, RUOK emails, wellness webinars, all while people are doing the work of two or three roles and stressing about rent, groceries, fuel, mortgages, insurance, whatever else has gone up this week.
And the commute stuff is insane. Dragging people back into offices so they can sit on Teams calls, lose two hours a day travelling, and spend more money they don’t have, all for “collaboration”.
I don’t know. It just feels like the social contract has completely fallen apart. Work harder, get paid less in real terms, live further away, own less, pretend to be grateful, and keep smiling.
Maybe I’m just jaded, but it honestly feels like a lot of us are becoming strangers in our own country. Like everything is technically “fine”, but it doesn’t feel like it’s built for normal people anymore.
Anyone else feeling this, or have I just had one too many corporate town halls?
Arsenal are the ONLY team to not have conceded a penalty or received a red card in the Premier League this season. 🔴⚪️
This has NEVER happened in Premier League history. 📍
PGMOL CHAMPIONS 🏆
Crystal Palace I know you have the conference league final next week, but you have the chance to do something greater than winning any European football.
If the players can pull off at least a draw they’ll be immortalised and idolised by millions of football fans which is greater than any trophy.
I want to apologise to people who have tried to get in touch with my office and haven’t received a response.
We are being inundated with thousands of calls, emails and messages every week and it’s not possible to respond to all of them.
The Albanese government cut the staff allocation to One Nation after the last election.
I have been going to both the Prime Minister and Special Minister of State Don Farrell since the staff cuts. I have been begging and pleading with them to give us more staff to deal with the heavy workload.
In fact, earlier this year a staff member wrote to the Prime Minister directly, explaining the extreme stress they are under.
Labor hasn’t even responded and couldn’t care less.
My staff have continued out of loyalty, and they want to help the Australian people but their health has now become a serious issue.
As the leader of One Nation, I have 5 Electorate officers and just 2 Parliamentary Advisers.
The Leader of the Greens, Larissa Waters, has 5 electorate officers and 15 Advisers.
The Prime Minister has 59 personal Advisers. Adding his other Ministers, the Government employs a total of 504 personal Advisers.
This is in addition to the 1,200+ employees in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet alone and 185,000 employed by the Government as bureaucrats in the public service.
This is the Prime Minister using his powers to disadvantage his political opponents who don’t agree with his agenda.
My office deals with people in very difficult situations, complicated family law, immigration, NDIS, veterans and welfare plus many other matters.
The Australian people’s personal struggles are worse than ever – my staff have had to talk people down from the edge of taking their own lives.
Many people come to us because they get absolutely no assistance from the government and many other political offices.
It’s beyond a joke the lack of help that Labor is providing considering I would have one of the busiest political offices in the country.
I didn’t want to air this out in public, but this Albanese government has given me no choice
It’s not that we don’t want to do the work for the Australian people, it’s that we physically can’t.
My staff want to help this country and the people in it, but they’re so stressed they are close to collapsing.
I am the leader of a political party that is polling more than major political parties.
The government has failed to staff One Nation anywhere close to a functional level.
This is pure, bloody-minded politics by the Labor party.
I’ve tried everything I can to help people and will continue to do so, but my hands are tied.
The Labor party like to go on about the battlers. Well I’ve got some in my office trying to do a decent job for many Australians, but they don’t care about them.
Albanese can't Budget because he's lived off the taxpayer his whole life - most of it as a politician.
He'll continue to live off the taxpayer in retirement.
This Budget contains no risk for him.
His future comfort is guaranteed.
Like so many 'socialists' that claim to serve the working class, he lives off the productivity of the working class without producing anything himself other than tax hikes.
When are people going to wake up.
New Labor Party tax changes are absolutely brutal for anybody who aspires to be productive.
If you start a successful business and sell it for $20 million, you pay 47% in tax - $9.4 million.
But if you win $20 million in the lottery, it’s tax free.
So the message is: Don’t build.
Gamble instead.
How does this work? Can somebody explain how we are supposed to make Australia a productive, first world society when we directly punish investment and productivity while encouraging people to incinerate their money in pokies and gambling?
The entire budget is bullshit. It’s supposedly all about “generational equity” and helping young people, yet they’re only eliminating negative gearing for young people.
If you already have ten negatively geared investment properties, you’re sweet because the changes are being grandfathered in.
So how does that help me as a young person? You ask me to pay more tax while preserving tax concessions for older generations.
You say that if I start a new business and work hard at it for years building something productive for society, half must go to the government in tax to be shoveled into the furnace of NDIS fraud.
The budget is all about penalising productive people.
Australia is on track to be a full command economy by 2040.
It took Jürgen Klopp 3 years to build a culture, mentality monsters, training like animals . It was so strong I often said we can feed off it for 10 years after him.
Arne Slot, somehow managed to destroy it after 9 months.
One Nation won the seat of Farrer with close to 60% of the two party preferred vote in a democratic election.
Last night the ABC, our $1 billion a year taxpayer funded national broadcaster, implied that One Nation was an illegitimate political party.
This morning on Insiders the ABC allowed commentators to declare One Nation was “at its core” “a racist and bigoted” party.
The “impartial” ABC failed to challenge or even debate the claim.
Other supposedly “impartial” media outlets have published similar articles, dismissing and demonising the millions of Australians who have said they would vote for One Nation.
These people don’t get it. We live in a democracy.
Labor, Liberal, the media, the academics and the lobbyists don’t get to decide who represents Australian people.
No one except the people of Australia get to decide who is “legitimate” and worthy of representing them in Parliament.
On Saturday, the people of Farrer chose One Nation.
Tomorrow marks 125 years since Australia's first Parliament opened.
The ceremony began with the singing of Psalm 100.
12,000 voices joined in the Lord's Prayer.
The Christian foundations of Australia aren't myth or sentiment. They are documented fact. 🧵
