Ambassador Walker met with their Excellencies, Smita Rossetti, British High Commissioner to The Bahamas and Alicia Herbert, British High Commissioner to Jamaica to further our wonderful partnership in the region.
The Bahamas and the United States reaffirmed their collective security partnership by renewing their commitments to the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) on Tuesday 29 September. The relationship between the United States Navy and the island of Andros remains deeply rooted in respect, environmental stewardship, and support of the community. 🇺🇸🇧🇸
Certain foreign investments in our hemisphere can come with a hidden price tag. Lower upfront costs mask higher lifecycle expenses and long-term risk. The United States offers something better.

Some conversations hit a little closer to home. Growing up in rural Georgia and later building a career in the food industry, I saw firsthand how agriculture supports families and communities. I enjoyed talking with Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, Jomo Campbell about our shared priorities and new ways the United States and The Bahamas can work together to strengthen food security. - HW

🇧🇸🇺🇸Celebrating Culture. Preserving History. Strengthening Friendship.
Last night at The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas, we celebrated Bahamian Culture and American Friendship as part of the U.S. Embassy’s Freedom 250 Initiative.
The evening also marked an important investment in preserving Bahamian history: $245,000 from the United States to support the restoration of Fort Montagu and the conservation of its historic cannons to The Antiquities, Monuments & Museum Corporation (AMMC)
Built in 1741, Fort Montagu has stood for nearly three centuries as part of The Bahamas’ story. Through the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation and Freedom 250, the United States has now invested more than $750,000 in cultural preservation projects across The Bahamas.
As Ambassador Herschel Walker shared, this work is about more than preserving a historic structure—it is about preserving the stories, identity, and heritage that connect generations.
Here’s a look at a special evening celebrating the culture that makes The Bahamas unique and the enduring friendship between our two nations. 🇧🇸🇺🇸
