@patrissimo Visited Tangier a while ago. Liked it so much that I extended my stay. Something was definitely different than rest of Morocco or Spain (~30min ferry ride away).
@SalRosario3 @danielstoddart @bob3daoman @Suhail Wait till corporations figure that remote worker = better profit margins. Compliance (by way of lobbying) goes out the window.
@Kdenkss @balajis Somewhere along the Atlantic Ocean. Milder weather and better time zone. Maybe somewhere in South West Morocco? (not too close to western Sahara!)
@benshapiro How to know a conservative is a two-faced liar? He/she constantly using the phrase 'Israel defending herself.' Can't wait for that phrase to go the way of Afghan war.
@UMeasures @balajis Going back to my nuke example, I envision the GH mods equivalent to be a DAO with a participation token. Now, in applications such as the Flatcoin, privacy isn't an issue and anyone can peek into the database. For nuke, would you want OPEX to be open for all? IDK yet!
@UMeasures @balajis Team of GH mods = centralized/permissioned. Point of blockchain is to have as much of a decentralized and permissionless system as possible. I get your point; you'll remain skeptical till you see a solid industrial use case (none exists now AFAIK). Fair enough.
@JamesonCamp Very solid advice, specially finding a niche you like. Makes you more enthusiastic and tolerant of the challenges. How does substack integrate with this? Use it for steps 4-6?
@ruima@jgarzik Yes, not only in US. Many countries thumped their chests and said they'll 'nationalize' their supply chain but then money talked. However, with automation etc I think manufacturing will eventually be more of a local thing.
@ruima@jgarzik I thought this is a given??? Anyway, I don't know how much improvement in quality and innovation has China made since I was involved in that sector (~ 5yrs ago which is too long), but that's her achilles heel.
Also, Xinguan epidemic? Is that Chinese for COVID-19?
@balajis Sent a DM.
To those asking, you can make something funny and educational then mint on NFT exchanges. Possibilities are endless. Here's one where I liken bitcoin impact on wallst to nuclear fission.
@balajis Many industries can benefit (e.g. nuclear plants). Many of the operational experiences (opex) are so common but most are afraid to share. However, sharing will end up saving plants billions in maintenance. Security is an issue but 51% consensus can solve it.
