Nic Cabañero left it all on the court for his final UAAP game: 24 points, 8-19 FGs, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Made big-time plays to keep his team alive and fighting until the very end.

UST's history books should remember him fondly. He stayed loyal to the Growling Tigers when he could have transferred to a winning program. He carried the burden of having to perform every game otherwise his team would have had no chance to win. And when they got better, he learned to expand his game, becoming a better defender, playmaker, and leader.

Cabañero didn't lead UST to a finals appearance, but you can never say it was for lack of trying. He embodied the spirit of a competitor, and the real ones will always know how much he mattered -- especially those from his community.
