Ok so here is how it all works: Teams earn coefficient points for competing in European play. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. Bonuses are also handed out for advancing into knockout rounds and winning Europa groups.

I know the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 always get mad when I talk about this in #UCL qualifying, but the trend of Scottish teams getting far more points in #UEL than in UCL continues. Rangers on 13 and won their group securing a R16 berth, Celtic out on 7 coefficients earned, only 3 through group play

@BonikowskyMark For sure, they are less than a point behind 🇩🇪 for 2nd on the year, both have 6 teams remaining in competition. The #UCL draw favors the 🇩🇪 clubs, but 🇩🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇪🇸🇮🇹 are all quite close on season total

#UEFA GS wrapped up today. 32 clubs are out of Europe and 🇷🇸🇨🇾🇲🇩🇮🇸🇧🇦🇫🇴🇰🇿 all have 0 clubs left in any competition #UCL #UEL #UECL

@BonikowskyMark Well spain is currently 4th on the year and has lost a couple teams, might be tough to finish top 2 , but not impossible with some #ucl #uel #uecl wins

@BonikowskyMark So the coefficient for the extra 2 teams in next year's allocation will be from this season, to the top two. But all the other allocations are based on 5 year

#UCL draw was pretty favorable for the 🇳🇱 bid to overtake again as a top 5 league PSV and Feyenoord have groups where both *can* finish top 2 and 🇫🇷teams PSG and Lens have uphill battles. The PSV v Lens games have huge importance in this battle

Current rankings, 🇳🇱AZ making #UECL GS plus the tough #UCL draw for for 🇫🇷 teams puts the Dutch in a good place to overtake France in the overall rankings

@JWestt90 @dpnina10 Exactly, I think most 🇳🇱 would do well in the #UECL group stage , but it all depends on the qualifying and group stage draws. Just like the top tier Dutch teams. PSV and Feyenoord got favorable draws while 🇫🇷 teams did not in #UCL should be a fun coefficient season

Lots of action today, 🇳🇱 AZ go through to #UECL group stage in pens, decent group draws for Feyenoord and PSV, currently 2.8 pts ahead of 🇫🇷 who have all 7 teams in group stage, but tough draws for PSG and Lens in the #UCL

@dpnina10 Twente have had it rough in #UECL playoffs for sure drawing 🇮🇹Fiorentina last year and 🇹🇷Fenerbache this year, but as an avid Eredivisie follower, I don't see the teams outside the top 4 doing well in Europe, but the added automatic GS bids help for sure

@daantjevdk Looking better for 🇳🇱 PSG in the group of death , AZ through to #UECL PSV and Feyenoord drew pretty good #UCL groups , the draw for #UEL and conference league may prove decisive in the fight for 5th place. France has all 7 teams in group stage, Dutch are 4/5

Fairly disappointing week for 🇳🇱 in #UEFA qualifying. PSV and AZ drawing, Twente getting smoked by 🇹🇷Fenerbache and basically out of Europe. Ajax with a bright spot 4-1 against 🇧🇬Ludogorets with a young squad, but a hat trick from Kudus who is likely moving to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿West Ham
