Let me correct Mohsin Naqvi

We’re not cockroaches. We’re Muslims. And we’re not asking you to fix your democracy — we don’t want your system reformed, we want it replaced. Al-hukmu illa lillah — the judgment is for Allah alone (Surah Al-An’am 6:57). That’s not a reform demand. That’s a different destination entirely.

And here’s why: your democracy tells me one vote is one vote — the scholar’s and the illiterate’s, the competent and the corrupt, all equal, all deciding the fate of 25 crore Muslims. Allah already answered that. “Say, are those who know equal to those who do not know?” (Surah Az-Zumar 39:9). They are not. A system that can’t tell the difference isn’t neutral — it’s broken by design.

So what do we actually want instead?

Politically — sovereignty that doesn’t sit with parliament or popularity, but with Allah’s law, executed through shura, consultation among those qualified to hold it (Ash-Shura 42:38), accountable to Sharia, not to whoever spent the most on a campaign.

Economically — an end to riba. No interest-based debt economy built to keep the poor poor and the rich richer (Al-Baqarah 2:275, 2:278–279). Wealth that circulates instead of piling up in a few hands — “so that it does not remain a perpetual distribution among only the rich among you” (Al-Hashr 59:7). Zakat as a structural pillar, not an afterthought.

Foreign policy — one Ummah, not fifty flags competing for a UN seat. Alliances built on faith and justice, not on whoever’s cutting the biggest check. Solidarity with oppressed Muslims wherever they are, not silence bought with aid packages.

Accountability — Caliph Umar (RA) stood before the Ummah and said “if you see any crookedness in me, straighten it,” and a common man told him to his face he’d have straightened him with his sword if he’d strayed. That’s accountability — a ruler answerable to the people and to Allah, not the other way around. Compare that to PECA charges for a tweet and enforced disappearances for anyone labeled “anti-state.” That’s not law and order. That’s a system that criminalizes questions because it can’t survive being asked any.

That’s not utopian. That’s the system we’re asking for. Not your reform. Replacement.

You want to know what actually unites us? Not your jobs. Not your system. Watching our own — the JAAC protestors in Kashmir, Muslims, killed by the same forces that swear to protect them. You don’t get to lecture us about unity while burying the people who dared to demand their rights.

So here’s where we start:

We stop letting our own brothers get killed and calling it law and order.
We remember the Ummah is one body — “if one limb suffers, the whole body responds with fever and sleeplessness” (Sahih Muslim).
We revive an identity that means something — not a flag, not a border, not a passport.
And we leave Asabiyyah behind — the Prophet ﷺ called tribal loyalty a rotten thing, “da’uha fa innaha muntinah” (Sahih al-Bukhari).

If Mohsin Naqvi and every leader like him actually wanted this “regime” to survive, they’d stop lecturing us on national sovereignty and start teaching us who we are. Not Pakistani first. Not Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtun, Baloch first. Muslim first — “the believers are but brothers” (Al-Hujurat 49:10), one Ummah before any flag existed to divide it. You don’t protect a nation by drilling loyalty to its borders into people Allah already gave a bigger identity to. You lose them the moment they remember it.

Democratic leaders can keep asking what we want. We’ve told you. Allah ka Nizaam.
