It’s with great sadness that our union announces the passing of former USW International President Leo W. Gerard. A fierce fighter and a friend to many, Leo worked tirelessly to build solidarity and advance workers’ interests.

On Workers’ Memorial Day, we honor those lost to unsafe working conditions and fight for the living by demanding safe jobs for all. 385 workers are killed on the job per day, and 3.2 million per year suffer injury & illness because of preventable, dangerous working conditions.
